Empty your bag at the end of each day. Weight causes structural stress over time. A bag that rests empty retains its shape far longer than one left packed overnight.

Store upright, never on its side. The base of a bag is its most vulnerable structural point. Always store it standing, ideally in its dust bag.

Keep away from direct sunlight. UV light fades colour and dries out plant-based materials. Store in a cool, shaded space.

Avoid contact with perfume and hand cream. Alcohol and oils can stain and degrade surface finishes. Apply fragrance before picking up your bag, not after.

For surface dust: Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Wipe in one direction — never circular motions, which can spread debris into the grain.

For light marks on apple or vegan leather: Dampen a cloth with distilled water (not tap water — minerals can leave marks). Blot, do not rub. Allow to air dry naturally.

For organic canvas: Mix a small amount of mild, pH-neutral soap with cool water. Apply with a soft brush in gentle circular motions. Rinse with a clean damp cloth. Air dry flat.

Never use: Baby wipes, alcohol-based cleaners, acetone, bleach, or any product not specifically formulated for your bag's material.

Apple and vegan leather: Apply a plant-based leather conditioner every 3–6 months. Use a soft cloth, apply in thin layers, and allow to absorb fully before use. This prevents cracking and maintains suppleness.

Organic canvas: A light application of beeswax or plant-based fabric protector once or twice a year will repel moisture and maintain the integrity of the weave.

Hardware: Wipe recycled brass hardware with a dry cloth after use. A small amount of brass polish applied quarterly will maintain the finish and prevent oxidation.

Always use the dust bag. The ZELVE dust bag is not packaging — it is a storage tool. It protects against dust, light, and humidity while allowing the material to breathe.

Stuff lightly to maintain shape. For extended storage, fill the bag loosely with acid-free tissue paper to help it retain its silhouette. Never use newspaper — the ink transfers.

Avoid plastic bags and airtight containers. Materials need to breathe. Sealed storage causes moisture buildup, which leads to mould and material degradation.
